Παραδοσιακές Μακαρούνες Καρπάθου

Υλικά
500 γρ μακαρούνες
Ενάμιση με δύο λίτρα νερό
2 κρεμμύδια ψιλοκομμένα
2-3 κουταλιές της σούπας βούτυρο πρόβειο
Αλάτι
Τυρί τριμμένο

Εκτέλεση
Βάζουμε το νερό στην κατσαρόλα και το βάζουμε στη φωτιά μέχρι να αρχίσει να κοχλάζει.
Προσθέτουμε τις μακαρούνες και τις βράζουμε για 35-40 λεπτά περίπου μέχρι να βράσουν.
Όταν είναι έτοιμες, σβήνουμε τη φωτιά, προσθέτουμε μισό λίτρο κρύο νερό και τις στραγγίζουμε.

Για το κρεμμύδι
Βάζουμε στο τηγάνι το ψιλοκομμένο κρεμμύδι και το βούτυρο.
Το βάζουμε σε μέτρια φωτιά και τσιγαρίζουμε το κρεμμύδι μέχρι να ροδίσει.
Ρίχνουμε πάνω στις μακαρούνες το τριμμένο τυρί και απο πάνω ρίχνουμε το μείγμα βουτύρου και κρεμμυδιού σε ανάλογη ποσότητα.
