ATHENS, Alabama (AP) — Organizers in one north Alabama city are planning a festival to celebrate fried food.
A downtown revitalization group in Athens is planning the “Athens Grease Festival” for Sept. 29. Spirit of Athens director Trisha Black tells The News-Courier the group wants to both bring people downtown and to celebrate the town’s namesake of Athens, Greece.
